Blessing of Dwelling in His House

Chapter Four
Blessing of Dwelling in His House

Psalms 84: 4a. “Blessed are those who dwell in Your house...”

Truly we are blessed by His presence. There is a specific element of blessing within the opening words of this verse, and refers to the words of David’s song in 65: 4. “Blessed is the man You choose, and cause to approach You, that he may dwell in Your courts.”

As with the Psalmists in the 84th, David uses “esher”, which means “happiness or blessedness”. By interjection, it means, “Oh, the great happiness of”. Similar language with the same usage is found in Psalms 33: 2. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”

In 4: 3 of David’s song we see a classifying of those He chooses. “But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself him who is Godly…” For His own glory, He seeks those with a genuine heart after the Father. In the same “blessed” language, the Psalmist writes in 1: 1-2, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law (Torah) of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.”

In a passage where John records Yeshua referring to His chosen as “friends”, 15: 16 records Him saying, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain…”

As opposed to the mighty, noble, and wise according to the flesh, Paul tells the Corinthians in 1: 27-28 of the first letter, “But God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen…”

Paul tells the Ephesians in reference to “blessings in heavenly places”, in 1: 4, “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love…” And, James reasons in 2: 5, “Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promise to those who love Him?”

Peter writes of Messiah in 2: 4 of the first epistle, “Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected in deed by men, but chosen by God and precious…” Then, he includes us with Yeshua in v. 5. “You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Yeshua, the Messiah…”

In v. 9, Peter says we are “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that (we) may proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light.”

The promised victory of the “chosen” is found in Revelation 17: 14. “These (the wicked) will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called chosen and faithful.”

In all of this, we are as David finishes 65: 4, “…satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple”. For “satisfied”, David chooses “sabea”, which means “sufficient”. Yet, in the depth of definition, and the “bigness” of His goodness, we are more than just filled. We don’t have just enough to suffice. We have plenty. We are filled to satisfaction. We are satiated. We are as David sings in Psalms 23: 5, “(Our) cup runs over”. What a blessed encouragement!!

The Sparrow and Swallow

Section Two
The Blessed Dwelling Place

Chapter Three
The Sparrow and Swallow

Psalms 84: 3. “Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young—even Your altars, O Lord of hosts, My King and my God."

As dawn breaks over the little valley garden, a gentle breeze courses through the trees and across my face. With the refreshing smell of pine in the air and melodious sounds of birds greeting the new born day with song, I sense the presence of Yahweh, El Shaddai, as He walks in the morning mist.

As darkness slowly fades in favor of morning light, flora awaken. Clothed in colors of the rainbow, their aura reminds me of the sweet aroma of the Lord’s presence. As the first rays of morning light cast their life giving beams over a protective mountain peak, the garden teems with the vibrant presence of the Lord.

As the flora rise up, turn their faces toward the morning light, and bow their heads to drink in the blessings of each ray, I humbly bow before the altar of YAH’s presence and cry out in my soul, “O Lord of hosts, my King and my God”.

This actual experience has stood in my memory for over forty years, to ever remind me of the gentle presence of my Friend and His loving kindness. As I walk through this life, I realize I am but a wayfaring stranger. My home is not of this world. But, in the radiant presence of Yahweh, Shalom, I am very much at home within His beautiful courts such as this one. And, when it comes my time, I will walk forever at His side. Then and there, unabated, I will drink the pure beauty of His presence.

As the Psalmists say in these few words, the birds of the air have found a home within the courts of their Maker. They have built nests, even to the altars, and there joyfully raise their young. They come and go with unabated freedom. The joy of the Psalmists as seen in their eloquently written hearts desire to be in the presence of YAH is obvious. I challenge each of us to do the same. Take time out of a busy routine and fly as the sparrow and swallow into the glorious presence of our God. Then, be marvelously encouraged!!

Desire For His Presence

Chapter Two

Desire For His presence

Psalms 84: 2. “My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh cries out for the living God.”

When one goes without food for too long, a degree of weakness usually sets in. This is the beginning of meaning the Psalmists suggest in “longing” for the Master’s table. They use “kacaph” to portray one growing “pale”. They portray one that “pines after” His table, even to a deep desire. They just seem to never get enough of the goodness of His presence.

Whether it’s a perceived lack of food from the Master’s table, or just a seemingly insatiable desire for the “meat” of His Word, the necessary progression flows to the next level. The Psalmists now say, “yea, even fainteth”. They use “kalah” to convey the severity or urgency of the matter. If they can’t feed on His goodness, everything will come to an end. They will cease to exist. Even with proper preparation, they are incomplete and consumed within their spirit.

This is the gravity under which the Psalmists desire the presence of their Lord. Yet, there is only a hint of doom in the meaning they lay before us. They say their “heart and flesh cry out…” Here, the Psalmists use “ranan”. Even though the prime root word has a slightly negative connotation in “to creak in a harsh or shrill sound”, it carries a significant message of faith, hope, and triumphant praise, especially in a meaning very close to my heart. It means “to sing or cause to sing aloud”. No matter the depth of despair, many times a mere song can lift the human spirit—precious communion with their Lord, within the protective confines of “His courts”.

In closing this part, I am reminded of a popular song, “As The Deer”. I leave the reader with words from the same Psalmists, in the 42nd, that inspired that beautiful tune.

1.“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.

2.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

3.My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, where is your God?

4.When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go with the multitude; I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept a pilgrim feast.

5.Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.

6.O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore I will remember You from the land of the Jordan, and from the heights of Hermon, from the Hill Mizar.

7.Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; all your waves and billows have gone over me.

8.The Lord will command His loving kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song shall be with me—a prayer to the God of my life.”

The Beauty of His Presence

The Presence of Yahweh

Chapter One
The Beauty of His Presence

Psalms 84: 1: “How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!

For “tabernacles”, the Psalmists used “mishkan”. From tents to Solomon’s Temple, the Spirit of the Living God there within dwelt in all His majesty and greatness. From His holy habitation proceeded justice and mercy for those that came into His presence and called upon His name.

Divine blessing immersed His faithful, while judgment fell accordingly on all those too mired in the cares of life to see value in YAH’s presence. Yet, for the faithful, they saw a value worth far more than silver or gold, rubies or diamonds. They realized the most beautiful and valuable gem was pale in comparison to YAH’s presence.

For “amiable”, the Psalmists used “y’diyd”. Nelson’s NKJV renders this word as “lovely”. Webster defines the word as “an agreeable, friendly and sociable attitude”. It is an amiable loveliness that is as big as the heart of YAH Himself. And, He pours out accordingly on those that seek Him in His temple.

In consideration of a “pouring out”, these Psalmists also sang in 46: 4-5, “There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her, just at the break of day.”

When we seek the face of His presence, He returns our faith upon the wings of His immense goodness. We become as gardens securely planted by the river. And, the flow of life giving water becomes veritable fountains of vitality flowing through us to parched lives. So, emulate David as he sings in 27: 4. “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.”

The beauty of YAH’s presence goes to the depths of His “ever-presence”. It’s like a one-liner I once heard, “If you feel far from God, guess who moved”. When we get a grip on our position, we find YAH was there all the time—ever solid, ever Faithful. When we come to Him, or return to Him, we “make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High”, and are accordingly encouraged.

An Encouraging Word

I once heard a "wishful thinking" story depicting Satan's desire for retirement. He had worked hard through the centuries wreaking havoc upon YHVH's plans. His was tired and looked forward to an impending and well-deserved rest enjoying the fruits of his labor.

In making plans for departure from his works of evil, he gathered all his tools of the trade—lust, greed, hate, etc.—and disposed of them. As he was parting with these tools, he just couldn't resist the thought of maybe coming out of retirement at sometime in the future. So, he decided to keep one tool, just in case. With this one tool—discouragement—he knew he would eventually regain all the other tools he disposed of.

Of course, we all know he will never retire—until the day Yeshua slams for the last time the gates to the bottomless pit. Even so, this little story sets the stage for a presentation of that which YHVH has asked me to do, and has been the focal point of our recent journey around our country—encouraging HIS remnant children.

Sometimes life is peaceful and all seems well. Yet, other times are replete with sorrow and misery—or somewhere in between. In the posts that follow this introduction, I will share thoughts of encouragement I found hidden within the 84th Psalm.

True encouragement is achieved “only” in a manner found in 1 Samuel 30: 6. In the previous 5 verses, an account is given for David's distress. Yet, it is recorded in the latter part of v. 6 that David looked up out of his trouble and “encouraged and strengthened himself in the Lord his God”. With these posts, I pray our Messiah bestows peace and contentment in the place of tribulation.

Best Laid Plans Gone Awry?

As I sit here in our Texas RV park, I find myself reflecting back upon our journey over the last four and a half months. We embarked in early June westbound from Austin, Texas with the idea of making a complete circle of the United States. Our excitement was very hard to conceal. We were very eager to be about our Father's business of finding and encouraging HIS scattered remnant children.

As I sit here looking back upon the events of our journey, I can't help but wonder if something went wrong along the way. Maybe the enemy had been successful in derailing HIS plans for us. A time or two both of us even wondered if “WE” had contributed to the enemy's plans. Maybe we were even in league with him.

Many on our journey received our message of the unchanging purity of HIS Word with respectful rejection. Some on our journey were not as respectful in their rejection. They were quick to let us know we were straying—even to saying YHVH told them so. We even found ourselves early in our journey cut off from sources of contact with which we began—left to go it alone, simply because of our encouragement and from whom we received encouragement.

Sadly, many on our journey will continue on with the delusion of unholy mixtures and reap according to what they've sown. Some have chosen to remain loyal to “Church” doctrines that, at best, are mixtures of HIS purity with doctrines of men. At worst, they completely reject the pure message of Messiah by saying “YHVH is finished with Israel and now works through the 'Church'”.

Others have grabbed hold of the Messianic view of Holy Scripture, yet have fallen short of HIS purity by refusing to let go of impure church teachings—intolerant of any teaching other than theirs. Some have even gone “overboard” with their departure from “Churchianity” and seriously embraced Rabbinical Judaism—a bondage just as deadly as the one they left.

Yet, there were some real bright spots. There was a family in Phoenix, Arizona we met in our RV park. They were full-time RVers like us. There were extremely receptive to the message we presented. The fellowship was truly positive—and was a blessing to us especially in consideration of the spiritual battles we fought before and during our visit to Phoenix. They ministered to us at least as much as we to them.

There was a dear sister in California that prayed us through to our impending visit with her—a segment of our journey in which the enemy literally tried to kill us. Then, there was a brother in California and his family of three generations that opened his home and made us feel like we were part of the family—lots of Johnny Cash fans there too.

We found a dear brother and his family in Montana that received us with equal fervency. With original contacts cut off, we found another brother and sister in northeast Illinois that eagerly opened their home to us. We found a dear sister in the Chicago area equally as receptive. We even found a pastor in the Chicago area that opened his church for us to give testimony and a musical performance.

We made favorable musical contacts in Nashville, Tennessee. We were able to record three new albums in Knoxville, Tennessee. While in Knoxville, we made several new friends and had the opportunity to do a lot of performing. In this, we made contacts that will have bearing on some of our future musical endeavors.

A major highlight of the journey was just ahead of us. We had long desired to attend a Messianic conference in which Mike Clayton of “Joined to HaShem” ministries was speaking. When he was in Oregon, he was too far off our intended route and schedule. He was in Colorado a week or so after we had left. We never got to Ohio. But, Hickory, North Carolina was right on our intended path.

During this weekend conference, we not only heard Mike speak and teach. We were blessed with the teaching of Rico Cortez, Brad Scott, and Bill Cloud. The musical praise teams were terrific. We heard these men teach YHVH's Holy Torah the entire weekend. We heard men that didn't necessarily agree on simple things like the spelling and pronunciation of HIS name, or the day of Shabbat. Yet, they were “in one accord” teaching us how to “get along” and survive in the coming “greater exodus”.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina provided a much needed rest and one round of golf. Because of a neighbor at the RV park, I was given a second round of golf “free” by a new friend from West Virginia—just one day before my birthday. While I was playing golf, SueJean even got to do something I understand ladies love to do—go shopping.

Myrtle Beach was the culmination of a feat many only dream of—the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast in one trip. While on the Oregon coast, we picked up a little ocean rock with the express purpose of depositing it in the Atlantic. It now resides in the Atlantic off the Myrtle Beach coast—and in the general direction of Israel.

We then traveled to Alabama to visit relatives. There was Torah teaching, rounds of singing, and plenty of great fellowship with SueJean's son and family. Reunion was also very sweet for me, especially after 50 years. We were able to meet with and minister to my cousin in southern Alabama. I pray our next get together won't need to wait that long.

At this point, we had only one thing left to do before returning to Texas. We were destined for a scheduled appointment to celebrate Sukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles) in Oklahoma with Monte Judah. Our fervent desire to maintain our testimony of Yeshua and keep HIS commandments had brought us to this end. What a blessed tag to put on a very eventful circular journey—eleven days of ministry and celebration! There, we were able to receive ministry and minister to people from both the U.S. and Canada.

Once again, I ask if our plans did go awry. I would honestly say, in fact, they definitely did. The plans “WE” made before leaving Austin were unceremoniously derailed before we got half way up the California coast—maybe even before we left Austin. From that time on, we were totally dependent upon YHVH's leading.

In one form or another, derailment happens when we rely upon our plans rather than HIS plans. In actuality, our journey has turned out FAR better at HIS hand than we could have ever dreamed concerning ours. I leave my readers with this verse of Scripture in hopes they will head its instruction and be blessed with HIS peaceful encouragement. I pray all have a terrific Son-shine day in Messiah!

“Trust in Adonai with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6

Tsiyon Bound

"Tsiyon Bound"; From the album "Tsiyon Bound"
by DannyLee ben Israel

From my “Tsiyon Bound” album, I have chosen a few of the great songs to highlight. I think it is appropriate to close that selection with this song that is the closest to my human heart. It is also the closing song on the album, and the title track.

I may never be able to adequately describe the feeling I had in my heart with the completion of this album. Every step of the way, from the penning of "Tsiyon Roads" to the Tennessee recording session, to the writing of my thoughts for this forum, the entire project has been a tremendous source of satisfaction and joy--both in the battles and their ultimate victories.

The completion of this album project was affected with the help of many within my scope of friends. If it weren't for their influence and prayers, this album might still be little more than just a simple wish. Of those friends, it seems very fitting to recognize a very special friend--my best friend--that played a significant role in the production of this album.

Many times, she would listen to me sing these songs and act as a caring coach. She would make suggestions related to accent and pronunciation. Sometimes, it was the changing of words or whole lines, as she did in "Tsiyon Roads" and "White Horse Rider in the Sky". Other times, it was just her constant encouragement when I wasn't sure I could complete the project. This song features the voice of my covenant partner, SueJean.

YHVH said in Genesis 2: 18, "It is not good that man should live alone. I will make a help-meet comparable to him". There aren't enough words to express the joy I felt in having SueJean stand at my side in that Tennessee studio and sing our rendition of this well known Johnny Cash/June Carter duet “Jackson”. With her in my life, the loneliness I once felt is now past history. I feel completed, empowered to be the man YHVH intended. Only time will tell how far the scope of that empowerment will reach.

Johnny and June stood together in the Spirit of YAH's words regarding Adam, and carried the message of their music throughout the world for over 35 years. In like Spirit, SueJean and I will stand together and carry the message of our songs for as many years as YHVH has in store for us, wherever HIS desire may be.

In these last days, it is critical that men of the great YHVH stand up and be men. It has been said, "Behind every good man is a good woman". Those words are very true--IF the lady in question doesn't try to mold her man into HER idea of what a man should be. I would challenge each lady, whether single and looking, or married to let YHVH mold him according to HIS purpose and ideals.

I would submit a thought for consideration. Truly, a man that is single is a lonely man; we men are just wired that way. However, a man that is married, and still lonely, is lonely indeed. Ladies, you play a very important role in the life of your "Man of the Great Yahweh". In the line of a popular Country song, "Stand by your man; help him be all that he can be"--even if you may not totally understand him, or the ways YAH leads him.

June Carter Cash was a terrific role model. If she had not chosen to stand by her man, Johnny would likely never have become the "American legend" he did. I close with June's words as quoted in the book, "Cash", by the editors of the Rolling Stone. "I chose to become Mrs. Johnny Cash. I decided I would allow him to be Moses, and I'd be his brother Aaron, holding up his arms and padding along behind him". For the ladies that understand the depth and magnitude of this lady's statement, they and their husbands will be encouraged and blessed accordingly--indeed!

We got saved from sin’s fever, t’was hotter than a pepper sprout.
We’ve been talkin’ ‘bout Tsiyon, ever since HE called us out.
We’re bound for Tsiyon with HIS peace all around.
Yeah, we’re bound for Tsiyon. Here we come Tsiyon town.

We’ll go on over to Tsiyon. There to live in Spirit health.
We played our hand on the Son of Man. HIS fools there gain Spirit wealth.
Yeah, we’re bound for Tsiyon (Uh-Huh) so bright and fair.
Honey, we’re gonna snowball Tsiyon YAH’s praises to share.

When we breeze into that city, ‘fore HIS throne we’ll stoop and bow.
All them angels gonna teach us the Lamb’s song so we’ll know how.
We’re bound for Tsiyon, devil let go of our coats.
Cause we’re bound for Tsiyon. Good-bye that’s all she wrote.

We’ll be laughing when in Tsiyon. We’ll be dancin’ with the Holy King.
HE’ll lead us round town, hear heav’nly sounds as strains from angels sing.
Yeah, Come on to Tsiyon while you still can.
So we can live together in Tsiyon in HIS Promised Land.

Mmm Well now we got saved from sin’s fever, t’was hotter than a pepper sprout.
We’ve been talkin’ bout Tsiyon ever since HE called us out.
We’re bound for Tsiyon and that’s a fact.
Yeah, we're bound for Tsiyon; ain’t never comin’ back.

Well, we got saved from sin’s fever, t’was hotter than a pepper sprout.
We’ve been talkin’ ‘bout Tsiyon, ever since HE called us out…

Men of the Great Yahweh

"Men of the Great Yahweh"; From the album "Tsiyon Bound"
by DannyLee ben Israel

This original song, written and performed by Sgt. Barry Sadler of the U.S. Marines, depicts special men called out and chosen to do a special job--military special forces. They are the "Delta Force", "Navy Seals", Army Rangers". Sgt. Sadler was a member of an elite group of U. S. Marines known as the "Green Berets". Men of his character were personified through a Hollywood film, "The Green Beret", starring John Wayne.

These men know how to fight efficiently. They are thoroughly skilled in the art of warfare. They are brave and courageous men that have mastered their own fear, conquering their enemies at the deepest levels. They are focused, single-minded, knowing full well they may have to make the ultimate sacrifice with their very lives.

YHVH's men--"Tsiyon's Marines"--are very much like these special military forces. They are faithful and true. They have a singleness of focus. They don't look left or right but are unswervingly loyal to the pure, unchanging Word of YHVH. They are very skilled in the art of warfare--spiritual warfare. They esteem Adonai and HIS calling of much higher value than their own personal desires--even to their very own lives.

As the flag-draped persona of "Uncle Sam" points his finger and says, "I want you!", YHVH is gently drawing HIS men to join the ranks of HIS special forces. The original song speaks of 100 men testing but only 3 chosen. Scripture says, "Many are called but few are chosen". Do you have what it takes? Rise up, men of YHVH! Meet the challenge, and help blaze the trail to Y'rushalyem, and YAH's great jubilee.

Moore, Eastaboga Music (ASCAP)

Faithful soldiers for their King,
Godly men who pray and sing,
Men who mean just what they say,
Truthful men of the great Yahweh.

Name of God upon their heads,
These are men, they’re Yahweh led.
Of all the men He’ll test today,
On just a few, His seal convey.

Trained to live by YAH’s pure Word,
From their lips, His praise is heard,
Men who toil and win the day,
Courageous men of the great Yahweh.

Name of God upon their heads,
These are men, they’re Yahweh led.
Of all the men He’ll test today,
On just a few, His seal convey.

O’er all the earth the remnant waits;
Their man of YAH has met his fate.
He has died for those outcast
Leaving them this last request.

Put the Word of God in my son’s heart,
So from His ways he won’t depart.
Then, as God’s man one day he’ll test,
And become one of Yahweh’s best.

White Horse Rider in the Sky

"White Horse Rider in the Sky"; From the album "Tsiyon Bound"
by DannyLee ben Israel

This song is possibly the most "Spirit touching" of all those in the album.  It was the smoothness of its flow.  It was a sense of electricity in the air--a feeling of the calming presence of the Ruach of YHVH.  It was seeing the look on the sound tech's face when I sang that last "uhm, hmm".  To me, that gave evidence YAH had clearly "nailed" the song--HIS point well made.

YAH's presence in the recording of this song gives special evidence of the seriousness of the times we face.  We are deep into the final generation, and time is very much of the essence.  The Lamb Who is worthy has released upon the wind the White Horse Rider.  He's ridin', and he's ridin' hard.  He's gatherin' YHVH's chosen from the four corners of the earth, even though they may not know it--yet.

From the very beginning of this song's inspiration, the enemy seemed to work overtime in an effort to derail the recording of this song, and the entire album project.  From the day and a half needed just to write the first two lines of this song, to battles of varying degrees of nature and seriousness right up to the very morning of the recording session, it was evident YAH's message was not desired by the enemy.

Among other instances, more than once it was SueJean's calming spirit that kept me from imploding before I ever touched a microphone.  It is Peter that wrote in 5: 8 of his first epistle, "Resist the devil, and he will flee from you".  From the moment we entered that Tennessee studio and shut the door behind us, the enemy was left out in the cold, leaving us wrapped solely in the warmth of YAH's Spirit

Whether we point our finger in the face of the enemy and command him to depart in the name of Yeshua, or just simply persevere in the face of his adversity, the victory is ours through HIS mighty hand.  We will have "fought a good fight".  We will have "run the race set before us".

The "White Horse Rider" truly is seeking remnant Y'israel.  He's looking for those that will answer the call.  In the words SueJean supplied for the last line of this song, cry out, "Don't pass me by!".

Cry out first to Yeshua as the penitent thief on the cross said similarly, "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom".  Then, "turn on the Light Switch" of HIS power by surrendering self-will to Ruach YHVH.  "Walk in the Spirit as (Yeshua) is in the Spirit".  Then, be pleasantly comforted and encouraged.

White Horse Rider in the Sky
Danny Lee Whittle
To the tune of “Ghost Rider in the Sky”— Stan Jones, Edwin H. Morris & Co. Inc. (ASCAP);

YAH’s servant John in Spirit there I sought my Master’s way.
Upon my knees I prayed as I rested on His day,
When all at once upon the wind a white horse there I saw,
Plowin’ through the ragged skies and up a cloudy draw.

His brand there bore YAH’s fire and his hooves they formed HIS seal.
His mane was gold and silver and his hot breath I could feel.
A sense of awe went through me as he thundered through the sky.
From the rider high upon his back I heard this glorious cry.

Yippie Yi oh oh oh
Yippie Yi ay ay ay ay
White horse rider in the sky…

His face aglow His eyes on fire his path is firm and set.
He’s seeking remnant Y’Israel, won’t stop ‘til their souls get.
With him t’ward Tsiyon ride to their home beyond the sky.
His horse a snortin’ fire, as he rides on hear him cry.

As the rider loped on by me, I heard him shout YAH’s name.
He’s redeemed HIS chosen in the earth in them HE sees no blame,
Says remnant child awaken and forever with YAH ride,
Where no tear is ever shed, below HIS Tsiyon skies.

Yippie Yi oh oh oh
Yippie Yi ay ay ay ay
White horse rider in the sky,
White horse rider in the sky,
White horse rider don’t pass me by.

Remnant child awaken
And forever with YAH ride.

Tsiyon Roads

“Tsiyon Roads”; From the album “Tsiyon Bound”
by DannyLee ben Israel

This song very adequately fills the “lead-off” role for “Tsiyon Bound”, effectively setting the stage for the remainder of the musical line-up. A line in an old Gospel song says, “This world is not my home; I’m just a’ passin’ through”. What a blessed assurance we have in the solid promises of YHWH, that we as HIS remnant will one day return to Y’rushalyem to be with HIM—and forever in the New Y’rushalyem.

I have long had a desire to take certain well-known secular songs and transform them into songs that give glory and honor to our Adonai. With the basis for these new lyrics provided by Viola Moss, I arranged them so as to flow in harmony with the original song’s theme. Because of her efforts and openness to the Ruach of YHWH, the wheels for this album project were set in motion.

I would also express further gratitude for the influence in this particular song of my covenant partner, SueJean. In this song, she is responsible for providing a Hebrew flair with the spelling and pronunciations of “Y’rushalyem” and “Y’israel”. Let us all go forth from this day, steadfastly moving together toward our victory march down “The King’s Highway”.

To the Tune of “Country Roads”—John Denver

Almost heaven, Y’ru-SHA-lyem,
Tsiyon mountain, grace flows like a river.
Life bestowed there, so full and free,
Stronger than the mountains, peaceful like a breeze.

Tsiyon roads, take me home
To the place I belong.
Y'shu-ah…Abba, Daddy
Take me home, Tsiyon roads.

All the chosen gather ‘round the throne,
From its fountain, living waters flow.
Down on bended knees, hands raised to the sky,
A gentle touch of Yah’s hand, and no more tears to cry.

Tsiyon roads, take me home
To the place I belong.
Y'shu-ah…Abba, Daddy
Take me home, down Tsiyon roads.

I hear His voice, in the morning hours He calls me.
His pure Word reminds me of my home far away.
Driving down the road I get a feeling
That I should have been home yesterday, yesterday.

Tsiyon roads, take me home
To the place I belong.
Y'shu-ah…Abba, Daddy,
Take me home, Tsiyon roads.

Tsiyon roads, take me home
To the place I belong.
Y’ru-SHA-lyem, Y’israel
Take me home, down Tsiyon roads.

Take me home, Tsiyon roads.
Take me home, down Tsiyon roads.
