This original song, written and performed by Sgt. Barry Sadler of the U.S. Marines, depicts special men called out and chosen to do a special job--military special forces. They are the "Delta Force", "Navy Seals", Army Rangers". Sgt. Sadler was a member of an elite group of U. S. Marines known as the "Green Berets". Men of his character were personified through a Hollywood film, "The Green Beret", starring John Wayne.

These men know how to fight efficiently. They are thoroughly skilled in the art of warfare. They are brave and courageous men that have mastered their own fear, conquering their enemies at the deepest levels. They are focused, single-minded, knowing full well they may have to make the ultimate sacrifice with their very lives.

YHVH's men--"Tsiyon's Marines"--are very much like these special military forces. They are faithful and true. They have a singleness of focus. They don't look left or right but are unswervingly loyal to the pure, unchanging Word of YHVH. They are very skilled in the art of warfare--spiritual warfare. They esteem Adonai and HIS calling of much higher value than their own personal desires--even to their very own lives.

As the flag-draped persona of "Uncle Sam" points his finger and says, "I want you!", YHVH is gently drawing HIS men to join the ranks of HIS special forces. The original song speaks of 100 men testing but only 3 chosen. Scripture says, "Many are called but few are chosen". Do you have what it takes? Rise up, men of YHVH! Meet the challenge, and help blaze the trail to Y'rushalyem, and YAH's great jubilee.
